While looking at new areas for possible ATV camping trips this summer I am surprised at all the areas still available for ATV camping here in the western part of the US. But some of that may change if the anti-motorist groups continue to get their way. In the mean time I have put together a list of ATV camping areas in the United States.
The list of ATV camping areas is constantly changing with new areas being added and unfortunately some areas being removed due to shutdowns to OHV use. The list actually decreased in size this last year. So I need your help in updating the ATV camping areas list.
Have a favorite ATV camping area that is not on the list, leave a comment and tell me about it. I will research it and add it to the list. If one of the areas listed no longer allow ATV camping, please leave a comment and tell me about it and I will update the list.
Due to the increasing number of areas being shut down to OHV use, its getting more and more difficult to find ATV camping areas in certain parts of the United States. I fear this situation will only get worse with the current administration.
Help me update this helpful resource by submitting your recommendations. Don’t know of any areas but interested in an ATV camping trip this summer…. Use the ATV Camping Areas list to find a back country campsite in your part of the country and get out and enjoy the great outdoors. Always check with the proper authorities or local experts to see if ATV camping is allowed before planning your trip.

This problem will continue to grow and with many groups supporting this move I can see a near end to the OHV tradition.

In certain states you may be right but the OHV community also continues to grow and through responsible use and support we can continue to enjoy ATV camping.

Bartlett Lakein Arizona is not that great, there is camping, but quadding/offroading is frowned on. You could add Alamo Lake to the list, it’s off the beaten path and there is great fishing. You also have Saffel Canyon listed in the White Mountains – you could amend that to just White Mountains, Big Lake Area
There are many trails in the area, and it’s all alpine.
