Spring is here and ATV camping season is about to begin. Living in Colorado I get several ATV camping opportunities every year. This year there is a group heading to Texas Creek the first weekend in May. Texas Creek offers rugged terrain and spectacular view of the Arkansas River Valley and Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
There is another group heading to Moab the middle of May. Moab is an ATV and OHV mecca, great scenery and a full gammot of trails to experience.
For Memorial Day weekend we always camp at Tarryall area with family and friends. Tarryall offers wide open trails for the kids and a few challenging trails.
Depending on the snow melt, the first of June there is a group heading to the Flat Tops and another group heading up to Hahns Peak area. Then every weekend after that through July there is always a ATV camping trip to join.
Then comes August, well August is set aside for Taylor Park. I look forward to this trip every season, just a great area and always a great time.
We usually make one last “guys trip” in early September. Last year we went to the Uncompahgre National Forest for 4 days, great trip, great fun, good friends.
