Since ATV camping enables you to get to some great back country campsites near a lake or a steam it is a good idea to pack your fishing pole and a small tackle box. ATV Fishing is a nice relaxing activity to do while camping or ATVing in the back country for a day.
If you really want to separate yourself from the pack while fishing you can bring along a float tube or inflatable boat and get out on the water to where the fish are biting. Float tubes and inflatable boats are great for ATV camping because deflated they easily pack on your ATV along with your camping gear.
Having fresh fish grilled over the campfire is an excellent camping meal. A couple of guys I go ATV camping with are pretty good fisherman and always seem to bring in a fish or two for dinner. I unfortunately have never had much luck as a fisherman.
I don’t know if it is my bait, fishing technique, fishing tackle, equipment, clothes, or the position I am standing in relation to the planets – I can’t seem to ever catch a fish! For people like me a good fishing guide might be the answer.
A good Fishing Guide not only will teach you the proper way to fish and actually catch something, they also know the local fishing regulations and where all the good fishing spots are. They also can help on equipment and tackle selection for any type of fishing.
Even if you are a seasoned fisherman a fishing guide can show you some great new spots where you are sure to enjoy fishing at and also may teach you some new techniques you weren’t aware of. Most inland fishing guides are very familiar with ATV camping and offer ATV camping trips to some remote fishing areas.
So don’t forget to pack your fishing gear for your next ATV camping trip or for your next ATV trail ride. You never know if the next stream or lake you encounter on your ride holds that big fish you have only dreamed about. Try ATV fishing today.

I am a old school guy. I don’t use guides, don’t even ask other fishermen. I go after my instincts when I have to pick my place for fishing. Of course , I am not the most sucessful one . You did mention those camping fires, a while ago I was out with friends , and I really enjoyed that campfire feeling. Reminded me my boyscout days.
