I have wrote about ATV goggles before as an important piece of your ATV riding gear, but I still see people riding without them. Some don’t wear them because they are uncomfortable, some just prefer to were sunglasses and some just lack common sense.

ATV GogglesThere are very few sunglasses available IMO that can stand up to the task of ATV riding. There have been many a ride where I have been peppered with gravel, dirt and mud from the guy in front of me especially if he is sporting a set of aggressive after market tires and doing everything he can to keep me from passing him.

ATV Goggles are designed to stand up to the task of ATV riding.

Sure a good pair of shatterproof sunglasses may be able to handle the gravel and mud but not the sand and dust. Not being able to see while riding ATVs is not a good thing. A good pair of ATV goggles can withstand pretty much all of the elements normally experienced on an ATV trail ride. Keep in mind when encountering mud you will sooner or later have to stop to clean your lenses or use roll-offs or tear-offs .

ATV GogglesI actually carry two pair of ATV goggles on my rides, one pair with tinted lenses for day rides and one pair with clear lenses for night or overcast rides. I even have a special pair with polarized anti-fog lenses for snow rides when it is extremely bright and cold out. All have shatterproof lenses.

Just like my ATV helmet, I have gotten used to wearing my ATV goggles and I feel funny with my helmet on without the goggles. At my age I need all the help I can get improving my eyesight and I definitely do not want to do something to make them worse. There are even goggles available with prescription lenses for those that wear glasses although some ATV goggles will fit over glasses.

ATV goggles not only protect, but can also enhance your vision.

Don’t risk losing sight of the trail or the rider in front of you and having a serious accident. Vision is a priority when it comes to ATV trail riding, and ATV goggles not only protect, but can also enhance your vision and your looks, which will allow you to ride at the top of your game.

ATV goggles are an inexpensive part of your ATV riding gear and like your helmet they should be worn whenever riding your ATV. Make sure you at least have a pair for day rides and a pair for night, overcast rides.
