Recreational riding of ATVs during hunting season is not advisable for safety reasons and out of respect of the hunter. But that does not mean you can not ride because there are areas that are acceptable ATV riding areas but unpopular hunting areas or not open to hunting. Through understanding and respect ATVers and Hunters can co-exist during hunting season.
Both the ATV rider and hunter need to exercise caution during hunting season. Hunters born after January 1, 1961 are required to successfully complete a hunter education course prior to purchasing a hunting license. The course teaches numerous hunting safety issues and responsibilities, specifically the need to exercise caution when hunting near heavily used trails and high use areas.
Hunters are also required to wear easily visible orange, but others such as ATVers are not. There is nothing worse from a hunters perspective than to scout an area to find the perfect spot only to show up for the hunt and have a bunch of ATVs roaring through the area scaring off all of the game.
Therefore it is a good idea for ATVers riding in possible hunting areas to also wear orange. From a common sense standpoint, ATVers need to make sure they know the area they are riding in and if there are any deer hunters in that area leave as quickly as possible. Look for other areas to ride that may not be so heavily populated with hunters.
It’s just common courtesy for the ATVers not to interrupt the sport of hunting. While at the same time the hunter needs to exercise good judgment by properly identifying the target and not knowingly mistake an ATVer for a deer and fire off a couple of rounds.
During hunting season, anyone in the back country hunting, hiking, camping and/or ATVing should recognize their responsibility of being aware that they are probably not the only ones in the area. If you see another person while in the back country, whether a hunter, hiker, camper and/or ATVer call out to them or make yourself more visible to make them aware of your location.
In general, peak hunting occurs during early morning and late afternoon, primarily from mid-October through mid-December. Typically ATVing from 9:00am – 3:00pm is acceptable during hunting season, but it is still a good idea to wear bright colored clothing or a blaze orange vest and practice responsible ATV riding.
With responsible actions on the part of both ATVers and hunters, hunting season can be a safe, enjoyable and rewarding experience. For your ATV accessories and hunting gear go to CampingATV.com

I don’t see that having a positive effect. I would not recommend trying to secure an armed hunter with an ATV as this would not end in a Win-Win situation.
