Blackhouse Mountain is located on part of the Pickett State Forest and state land in northern Tennessee just northeast of Jamestown. Blackhouse Mountain offers more than 100 miles of trails for all skill levels and remote primitive camping areas all over.
I have had a few people write me about Blackhouse Mountain and I was able to find little information about it, so it is kind of a hidden gem in Tennessee for the ATV camper.
There is 19,000 acres within the Pickett State Forest with trails connecting to other areas such as the Daniel Boone National Forest (Kentucky) and the Big South Fork National Recreation Area.
I was unable to find any trail maps for Blackhouse Mountain online so check with the Pickett State Forest office before going and have a good handheld GPS unit to prevent getting lost.
Blackhouse Mountain offers uncommon rock formations, natural bridges, numerous caves, waterfalls and a mineral lake. Along with the great scenery your bound to have a great time.
So if you are in the Tennessee/Kentucky area and looking for an uncrowded and remote area for your ATV camping adventure checkout Blackhouse Mountain. For all of your ATV camping accessories check out CampingATV.com.
